How to use this guide!
This guide will walk you through incorporating the ePortfolio and multimodal elements of the FWP curriculum into your classroom. This guide is linked to four toolkits we've built to support you regardless of what kind of media you want to bring into your classroom. At the beginning of the semester, you will use the Web Toolkit and one or more of the other toolkits (Video, Visual, and Audio) depending on what kind of media you want to bring into your classroom.
Each Toolkit contains:
- Example assignments for the final Remix project.
- A list of both instructor and student resources
- Several sample lessons to sprinkle through the semester.
By using these toolkits, you'll be able to meaningfully scaffold media elements throughout the semester of your class. This guide will walk you through how to do this easily. Throughout the standard syllabus, these Steps are highlighted for you, linking you to a short guide for the relevant week and how to approach media elements for that unit.
Each Step includes:
- Guidelines on how to adapt the handouts for your classroom and required prep to complete.
- Two ‘default paths’ that you can follow as example tracks (with Leo and Maria).
- Several tips and tricks for including digital content at that stage in the semester.
You are welcome to, and encouraged to deviate where you want to! If you’re worried and not sure where to start, take a look at our two demo-GTAs Leo and Maria, and feel free to follow their paths using the linked resources. These will work just fine as a default. When you’re ready, you can mix things up with your own content!
When you're ready, jump to Step 1.
